Known for its strong graduate programs, Chicago has recently undertaken a renewed emphasis in making its undergraduate program (3900 students) more attractive. This includes a new dormitory, a planned athletic facility, and an increase in the size of the undergraduate program. Historically the Chicago core has emphasized the liberal arts and students are required to take a common core of educational requirements. Strong programs include anthropology, economics, sociology, political science, English, biology, history, and psychology.
