Northeastern University
Boston, Massachusetts
In the heart of Boston, this school of 14,000 undergrads specializes in cooperative education (Read my Washington Post article about co-ops). Many students alternate between classes and six month paid jobs (averaging $12,000) related to their specialization. The largest programs are business, engineering, and health professions. Since students switch between class and work, most take five years to graduate.
