One of the most liberal colleges in America, Warren Wilson boasts, "We're not for everyone...but then, maybe you're not everyone." This unique college (953 students) is one of a handful of "work" colleges. Students are required to put in 15 hours a week of labor. This could be anything from cooking in the vegan dining hall, tending the farm, cleaning dorms, to giving massages. To graduate, students also must contribute 100 hours of community service. Strong programs include environmental studies and creative writing.
