With outstanding foreign language, the nation's first environmental studies program, and strong international studies, Middlebury has seen a dramatic rise in applications. The 2,455 students live in five residential colleges (see my article on the topic) with only 5% living off campus. Admissions is competitive with approximately 22% of applicants accepted through regular decision.
