This is a conservative university, affiliated with the Churches of Christ. Only recently did it lift its prohibition on dancing. Students are spiritually minded and predominately republican. Business and communications are the strongest programs and the school offers a major in sports medicine. Twenty-four percent of the men and 29% of the women join the Greek system. The undergrad population of 3,000 is 58% female.
